There is a pretty strong bond between wild animals. They will do almost anything to protect their families and something that almost even costs them their own life. This story is about a young rhino that switched the roles and made sure that his mother remained safe after she was attacked by poachers. And, guess what, it’s the cutest thing you’ll ever see.
Rhinos are vicious creatures, and one of them can even fight off a pack of lions sometimes. But, one thing rhinos can’t fight are poachers, and that’s why they’re the kryptonite of rhinos.
THEIR PRECIOUS HORNS
The horns are the reason why rhinos are one of the most hunted creatures on the planet. These horns are being sold on the black market for thousands of dollars. And, if this keeps up, one day, very soon, these animals will be extinct.
This was the spot where this mother rhino got attacked. This is a place in South Africa that’s well known for its exotic wildlife. That is why a lot of vets that want to help animals stick around this place. And, it would be an understatement to say that Kwazulu Natal keeps them pretty busy.
INJURED MAMA RHINO
This mother got attacked by God knows what. But, the vets that saw her did realize one thing, she’d be dead before sun down if she didn’t get help. However, their was one small barrier in their way.
HELPING HER MAMA
The rhino cub had just seen her mother vandalized. And, I’m pretty sure that he couldn’t protect her from the danger that had befallen her. However, he could protect her from the humans, who at the present time, looked like the enemy.
At first, the vets thought that the baby rhino would back off as soon as they showed up, but he did the opposite. The baby rhino charged as soon as they approached him. While the baby wasn’t life-threatening yet, his ram would certain mess up a couple of organs.
Vets are well trained for this sort of a situation and they were able to calm the rhino and approach the mother for the treatment. After two charges, the baby settled down.
STILL PROTECTING HER
Even though he let the vets approach the mother, he didn’t let a vet out of his sight. He was constantly patrolling and keeping an eye on each vet.
THE TREATMENT WORKED
Fortunately, the vets were able to successfully treat the mother and allow her to heal her wounds pretty well. Read on to see how she looked after the treatment.
Just a few days later, the mama was good as before. The wounds had completely healed, and even though she looks grumpy, I can assure you she’s happy.
