Fratelli is the Italian word for brothers and in fact the restaurant in the northwest side of the city, seemed that it was started by brothers. The venue is ample and they have an open kitchen that you can view from the dining area, which is a plus if you ever wonder what happens in the kitchen and it is a great as a family restaurant.
The restaurant is located at 10989 NW Freeway and their hours of operations are for lunch Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and dinner from Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and it stays closed on Sunday.
For their appetizers go with the schiacciattina which is a thin pizza dough coated with olive oil, parmesan cheese and Italian herb mixture for $5.95, or the funghi ripieni which are mushroom caps stuffed with crab meat, spinach and parmesan cheese and if you want something that you can have as a meal as well go with the gnocchi which come with a topped with a melted gorgonzola sauce for $6.95.
For their house specialties go with the costolette di maiale ripieno which is a grilled pork chop stuffed with spinach and gorgonzola and topped with mushrooms in a Marsala wine sauce for $16.95, or the saltimbocca alla Romana which are veal rolled and sautéed with prosciutto and sage in a butter sauce for $15.45, or even the pollo alla Dragoncella which is chicken breast sautéed in olive oil with onion, deglazed with white wine, and simmered in a creamy tarragon mustard sauce for $13.95.
While for their pastas go with the tagliatelle alla boscaiola which come with a creamy meat, mushroom and sweet pea sauce for $12.95, or the linguine all’orto which come with fresh tomato, basil, garlic, olive oil, toasted nuts and ricotta cheese for $9.95.
However do not skip dessert and try their cannoli, their tiramisu, their Italian cheese cake for $4.95 or their rice pudding for $3.95.
The parking is good, so that you will always find a spot quite easily so it gets an A.
The food is good and it taste really fresh, especially their homemade pasta and it gets a B+, but it gets an A- for the great prices. And the service overall gets an A- since the wait staff is quick on their feet and offer friendly service and suggestions on the orders.
