Homemade Olive Oil Shaving Gel

Throughout the dry winter months my skin becomes so dry it is almost unbearably to shave my legs. However, I recently came up with a homemade olive oil shaving gel that is super moisturizing and helps soothe my irritated skin so I am able to get a nice close shave without getting razor burns and nicks.

The natural ingredients you will need to make the homemade olive oil shaving gel are 1 cup of olive oil and 3 cups of pure aloe Vera gel. These ingredients can be found in any grocery store, drug store, and herbal store. They are pretty affordable ingredients and some of you may already have these ingredients on hand in your kitchen and medicine cabinets. If you want to add a scent to your homemade olive oil shaving gel try using essential oils like chamomile, lavender, or sandalwood.

The way you make the homemade olive oil shaving gel is very simple. All you do is pour the olive oil and aloe Vera gel into a medium glass bowl. Then you take a wire whisk and combined the ingredients together until you get a golden yellowish clear gel. Once the ingredients are combined you will have a homemade olive oil shaving gel that is super moisturizing and nourishing to dry skin. You can pour the shaving gel into a plastic container with a lid and store it by your bathtub until you are ready to use it to shave with.

Now the best way I find to use the homemade olive oil shaving gel is by first getting into the shower and getting your skin wet and warm. This helps soften the skin and hairs up so you can get a closer smoother shave. After you take a handful of the shaving gel and lather it on thick onto the area of skin you want to shave. Then you begin shaving with a very sharp razor. If your razor is dull your more likely to get razor burn and nicks. Once you are done shaving rinse the extra gel off your skin and pat your skin dry. After your skin should be smooth silky and hair free.

The reason I chose to use olive oil in this homemade olive oil shaving gel is because it is a natural moisturizer and it contains vitamin E. The reason aloe Vera is used is because it is also a natural moisturizer, but also a skin soother and healer because it contains antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties along with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.  These two natural ingredients are very gentle on skin and do a wonderful job with keeping skin looking and feeling its best.

For those of you who have a hard time shaving your legs and skin because it is so dry I hope this little tip helps you out with that problems. I do hope those of you who make the homemade olive oil shaving gel have an easy time making it, and those of you who use it love the way it helps you get a nice close smooth shave.
