How to Use Google Adwords.
Google Adwords is an advertising program developed by Google that places ads that are relevant to the content on the site hosting the ads. The beauty of Adword is that webmasters and website owners sign up to allow Google to place ads on the website, Google’s system automatically places advertisers ads on sites that are visited by people most likely to be interested in your services or products.
For example, if your business sells car speakers and you sign up for Google Adwords to spread the word about your business’ online store, your ads would appear on participating Google Adsense websites that are relevant to cars, car audio, and stereo systems.
Set up a free Google account.
Go to https://adwords.google.com to sign up for the program. You can use your existing Google Gmail or other Google account or create a new one. Once you are logged in you can create your first advertising campaign using Google Adword.
Create a campaign.
The first step is to choose how much money you are willing to spend to advertise your business or website. You can customize your budget based on how much you are willing to pay per day, if you want to pay only when someone clicks on your ad (known as pay per click), or you can pay whenever your ad appears (known as an ad impression). You can even create a schedule for when your ads will appear and for how long they will appear. Your Adwords cost is completely customizable.
On top of all these choices, you can set a limit on how much you are willing to pay per click or impression. You can also choose how much you are willing to pay for certain lucrative keywords and bid on high demand keywords.
The next step is to create your ads. Google allows you to create custom ads ranging from simple text based link ads to graphic and even video ads depending on your level of ad design experience.
After you have created some ads to be displayed on the Adword network, you select keywords that best represent your business and the ads you are placing. These keywords are important because they allow Google’s system to ‘find’ matching keywords in the text of millions of websites that signed up for Adsense and line your ads up with those keywords.
Google has tutorials on how to select the best keywords, but you can also research online to find what keywords may be relevant to your specific business or ads. Google also offers a free service called the Google Keyword Tool available at this link: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal . Keywords are always changing and the advertising value of some keywords will command a higher price for advertising alongside these words. Choosing the perfect Google Adword and keywords can help boost your Google Adwords advertising campaign.
Review and set up billing.
Before your ads go live, you need to submit billing information and finalize your ads. You do not have to go and place ads on websites, Google’s Adword program automatically places your ads alongside your selected keywords throughout the AdSense program network of websites.
Monitor and adjust your advertising campaign.
Visit the Adwords website whenever you want to check on the status of your advertising campaign. You can adjust your budget, create new ads, bid on new keywords, and see daily statistics showing you where web traffic is coming from. You can track which keywords and ads are the most effective, the number of clicks and impressions that your ads are getting, and monitor these statistics in graphs over time.
Keep in mind that no advertising campaign is guaranteed. Successful advertisers will continually monitor their google adwords account and take advantage of all the google adwords tools available.
