THE SHINY, THE BEAUTIFUL AND THE DEHYDRATED
“I can’t go out tonight, I am washing my hair.” In decades past women made an event out of washing their hair. Somehow this has dried up over the years as well as their hair. An essential for healthy and shiny hair is to let your hair ends get a chance to absorb the natural oils from the roots. Over washing results in major hair dehydration. I know what you are thinking, “Gross. My hair looks totally greasy if I don’t wash it everyday.” The solution? For Blondes dust a little baby powder on your roots. For Brunettes dust a dark cosmetic loose powder on your roots.
THE KIND, THE GENTLE AND THE DAMAGED
Although it is essential to brush your glamorous locks it is completely unnecessary to over brush. This can cause more damage. Try to avoid brushing your hair when it is wet, unless it is slick, smooth and easy to brush through.
Another important thing to do in preventing hair damage is not to pull your hair into tight ponytails with dare I say it, rubber bands, AHH!!! Instead do loose braids or use butterfly clips. Scrunchies aren’t just for you eighties ladies anymore either.
Trim that garbage. Contrary to popular belief trimming your hair does not make it grow faster. However, it does make it healthier, bouncier and easier to style. Also contrary to popular belief you don’t have to go to an expensive salon for a quick trim. You can do it yourself or have someone you know do it. Perhaps your sister, your mother or your best friend’s boyfriend’s cousin’s neighbor.
THE HEALTHY, THE STRONG AND THE PREGNANT
Taking vitamins plays a significant role in keeping your hair healthy. It has been scientifically proven that folic acid can cause hair to grow faster and the strands to become thicker. Regular multi vitamins contain this but if you want the good stuff invest in prenatal vitamins. These contain higher levels of all the goodies which makes hair grow and thicken. Even if you don’t have a bun in the oven you can still take them and if you decide to get preggo you will be one step ahead of the game. (You should always consult your physician if you have any questions or concerns regarding the intake of vitamins.)
I’VE GOT THE POWER.
Yes indeed, you’ve got the power. The power of attraction. We attract what we think, that’s the law. Therefore, think big, think healthy, think sexy and above all think, “I have the most rockin’ hair ever!”. This positive thinking not only stimulates your confidence level and your scalp but it also stimulates the universe to grant you that amazingly stunning head of hair. Snap.
