Of course to make a gift basket, you will need the basket. There are a few stores who sell baskets at reasonable prices. You can find baskets in different material, sizes, shapes, and colors. You can find them for good prices at The Dollar Tree, Wal-Mart, and possibly Five Below (everything is five dollars or less). Personally, I would go with The Dollar Tree and just spend a dollar on the basket. Especially if you decide to do more than one gift basket.
Tissue paper is optional for anyone, but preferred by some. You can get tissue paper of different colors or patterns to go with your basket or the theme of your basket, or just go with plain white. You can get packs of tissue paper really cheap from just about anywhere. I usually get atleast 6 to a pack for a dollar. This is good, because if you don’t need it all now, then you will have the rest for another time. Stores to find tissue paper include The Dollar Tree, Wal-Mart, Target, The Family Dollar, and Five Below.
Now we will get to the really fun part, buying the girls’ toys! You can actually find some really great toys at reasonable prices, maybe five or six dollars or less. I have see the following toys for reasonable prices: The Littlest Pet Shop, Babies In My Pocket, Kitties In My Pocket, Puppies In My Pocket, My Little Pony (usually just the pony with very few accessories), and Barbie (once again, usually just the pony with very few accessories). Depending on the age, you can also add in some jewelry and make-up, which can be found for various ages at various prices. Other items to consider include pillows, stuffed animals, hair scrunchies or hair bands, and if you’d like to include it, candy. The majority of these items can be used on girls of most ages, and if not, substitutes can be added (such as extra toys or stuffed animals). You can find most of these at Wal-Mart, Target, Five Below, Big Lots, Rite-Aid, Walgreens, and The Family Dollar.
If you decide to look at The Dollar Tree, you can find action figures, magic sets, toy cars, and boys’ dress up sets (such as cowboys or police officers). All of these are only a dollar each.
General items that can be found almost anywhere for great prices include arts and crafts, coloring books, crayons, colored pencils, construction paper, socks with patterns on them, a grow-a-towel, playing cards, stickers, and storybooks.
