Inexpensive Summer Wedding Ideas

Your wedding is an amazing day where you’re united with the person you love for the rest of your life. But to most people in this economy and day and age, the first thing on their mind is: “How are we going to pay for this?” or “That’s too much money!” Well, I’m going to give you some inexpensive wedding ideas that you can use for your wedding to make it magnificent.

How about having your wedding outside? Providing it’s not raining, of course. If you and your love had gone to a park that had meant a lot to you as children or when you were dating or engaged, then consider having your wedding there. You could use flowers from the park as decorations, and it doesn’t have to be fancy. Seeing the atmosphere of the park can sometimes be enough. If you don’t want to have your wedding in a park, then consider it on a beach at sunset. It would be romantic and the scenery would be extraordinary. Also, put out some citronella candles to keep the bugs away. (Some parks require a license to have a wedding there and they usually cost about $60 depending on the park you’re at.)

The bride may want to have a short sleeved dress or a strapless one because of the heat. For the groom, he would want to wear something light as well.

Make sure everyone stays hydrated. Give the guests drinks with a lot of ice. Offer water, cocktails, ice tea, lemonade, watermelon martinis, watermelon cooler punch, berry mango slushes, peach mint green tea, summerberry coolers, strawberry iced tea, and anything else you can think of!

What about the food? Well, since you’re going to be outside, you may want to have a causal dinner of hamburgers, steak, ribs, and cocktails. You and your groom could grill together as well as cut your cake. You could have some cater your wedding, although it is expensive. Another option is having a buffet. You’ll need some people to set it up and keep it stocked, but it will save you a lot of money. Also, you could have a restaurant supply the food. Find a good restaurant and ask about ordering large amounts of food, but don’t say wedding because then they’ll think you need someone to cater it. You’ll find that you’ll be able to get your wedding food for a low price.

Your cake should be ideal. A good idea for a hot summer day could be an ice cream cake. Make sure you store it in something cold until you bring it out to cut! Also, it should be made with fondant icing and not buttercream because it’ll hold up better. Maybe you should add some wedding cupcakes for decorations!

Make sure that you have a back-up plan. What if it rains? What if it’s too windy? Rent a tent just in case so you can have your special moment out of the wind and the rain! Make sure you check the forecast regularly, just in case rain does decide to come down on you.

Book a band or DJ early if you want music for your wedding. They sell out fast, so book them at least a month to two months in advance. Set up a gazebo for them to play on close to your reception and relax and listen to some good music while you eat dinner.

Remember to rent tables and chairs as well. It’s a lot cheaper than buying them, and it’ll give your guests a comfortable place to sit and watch the moments that make you and your partner united for life.

If you want to get fancy and use decorations, then you could use round paper lanterns that come in all different colors, battery operated candles when night falls, a personalized table runner that says you and your partner’s name, personalized wedding napkins, freeze dried rose petals, colored gem stones to put in cups or around/on your napkins, wedding sparklers, hand-painted butterfly decorations, water pearls to put at the bottom of glasses or glasses that hold candles, and cupcake stands.

I hope that helped! Have a happy wedding! 🙂
