Having a party? Include non-alcoholic drinks. It’s the thoughtful thing to do, but it doesn’t have to be boring! Below is listed various recipes for non-alcoholic drinks. Most ingredients can be found in the local supermarket or liquor supply store.

Tart Drinks

Lime Fizz (4-5 servings) INGREDIENTS: 1 6 oz. can frozen limeade concentrate thawed, 1/2 cup chilled bottled green maraschino cherry syrup or green passion fruit mix, 2 1/2 cups chilled quinine waater, green food coloring (optional).

Just before serving, combine limeade concentrate, syrup, and quinine water in a pitcher. Add food coloring to tint desired shade of green. Mix lightly. Garnish with a float of fresh cranberries. Serve over ice.

Salt of the Border (1 serving) INGREDIENTS: 1 cup bitter lemon or lime soda, Juice of 1 lime, 2 teaspoons sugar, salt to taste, crushed ice.

Pour soda in ice cube tray and allow to freeze thoroughly. Place in blemder container; add lime juice and sugar; blend. Rub lime around rim of the glass and dip into salt. Serve the mixture over crushed ice in the salted glass.

SEMI-SWEET DRINKS:

Pussyfoot: (1 serving) INGREDIENTS: 1 jigger lemon juice, 3 jiggers orange juice, 1 tablespoon grenadine, 1 egg yolk.

Blend or shake with crushed ice. Strain and serve chilled.

ORANGE NOG (4 servings) INGREDIENTS: 4 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 tablespoon sugar or honey, 3 1/4 cups orange juice.

Blend ingredients in blender well. This may be a quick breakfast, summer quencher, or evening cooler. Add crushed ice to the blender if you want it cold.

Carrie Nation (1 serving) INGREDIENTS: 1 serving of a cola beverage, 2 generous dashes of lemon juice and/or lime juice, and/or grenadine and /or any other fruit syrup or jucie.

Serve over ice and garninsh with an orange slice and a cherry.
