Our Stay at The Savoy Suites in Washington

I found this hotel on the inter net, it looked good, the pictures attracted me, but most of all, it only had good reviews. I think before you book a hotel, it’s a good idea to read the reviews. The added attraction was we got our room for a special price, which made it affordable. This hotel was situated on the outskirts of Washington, so within easy reach for the tourist who wished to enjoy all that Washington DC has to offer.

As soon as we entered the foyer, we were greeted by a smiling and very helpful receptionist. Our room was on the 6th floor, and there was a lift, which also took us down to the underground car park, which unlike most of the other hotels I had browsed, was completely free.

We were made to feel welcome by the staff

We had booked a Queen room, as at the time that is all that was left, but we were offered a double at no extra charge. We accepted of course, and when we entered the room, being so tired, we both sank onto the king size bed for a rest.

It was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in, the mattress was firm and supportive to my back, and I awoke each morning refreshed and well rested. The room was a good size, fully air conditioned, and the decor was pleasing and elegant with plenty of drawer space, a wardrobe, iron, hair dryer and even a fridge too.

We had en suite facilities too

The en suite had a good size shower, toilet and hand basin, and soap , towels, shampoo and conditioner were also in the bathroom, and there was a trouser press if needed. After a shower you could rub in body lotion , and the white towels were luxurious and soft.

The dining room was also very pleasant, with soothing music playing quietly in the background. There was a huge selection of food, ranging from fresh fruit, cereals and yogurt, to pastries, bagels bread, and croissants. There was also bacon and sausages, and the eagerness of the staff to cook us a fresh omelet to accompany it was evident. They were also very quick at clearing away our dirty dishes, and serving us tea and coffee when required.

I enjoyed the experience of staying at the Savoy Suites, and cannot find anything negative to say about it. Therefore I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who wants a comfortable and pleasurable stay.
