Dena had a visible web presence; submitting articles here on Bukisa and many other sites. She was a very talented freelance writer whose articles touched many people.
Dena lived in Tennessee, up on a mountain in a home that she shared with her beloved husband of almost 17 years, Rick. She had the most beautiful gardens and was active in her community. She sold plants and gave advice on gardening at her local farmer’s market. She also gave talks at the senior center in town.
Dena also loved food. She visited many local eateries in her area of eastern Tennessee and wrote heartfelt reviews about the restaurant owners and the food that they served. She and Rick enjoyed going and sampling what local restaurants had to offer.
Well-educated about herbs, Dena enjoyed writing about alternative medicine and natural treatments. She had a way of simplifying things that may have seemed complicated all through her unique style of writing.
Upon learning of her passing, many fans and online friends are offering up stories about how Dena touched their lives. The family has set up a memorial Facebook page where anyone can leave their stories. This is of comfort to her family as they are learning to cope with her loss.
There is also information on how donations can be made to help her family with the funeral expenses.
