Love Actually is a 2003 British comedy-drama film which revolves around the lives of 8 different couples and the way each deals with their love lives. All of them are loosely intertwined, and they’re all set in the days before Christmas.
The cue-card scene is probably the most iconic moment of the film, and it’s both romantic and tense. Mark and Peter are best friends, and one day Mark shows up at Peter’s wife’s door to declare his love for her. Instead of speaking out loud, he shows her a series of cue cards, one of which says “To me, you are perfect“. Yay or nay?
#24. The Bend And Snap Scene, Legally Blonde
Legally Blonde may not be the best movie ever, but it definitely makes you laugh your head off! The movie tells the story of Elle Woods (played by Reese Witherspoon), a posh sorority queen who enters law school to follow his ex-boyfriend.
In one of the film’s most hilarious scenes, Elle teaches her friend her personal flirting methods – in her words, the “bend and snap” technique. It may not be the most feminist scene ever, but we can’t deny that Witherspoon just rocks it!
#23. The Beach Scene, Moonlight
Moonlight is a 2016 drama film about an African-American man struggles with his sexuality as he comes of age in a marginalized Miami neighborhood. It won 3 Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Also, Mahershala Ali surprised the world with his brilliant performance.
In one of the movie’s greatest scenes, Juan (played by Ali) is teaching little Chiron (the main character) to swim in the sea. Shortly after, while they’re lying on the sand staring at the ocean, Juan gives the little boy a valuable piece of advice, which will mark him for the rest of his life: “At some point, you gotta decide for yourself who you gonna be. You can’t let nobody make that decision for you”.
#22. The Tiffany’s Scene, Breakfast At Tiffanys
Breakfast at Tiffany’s is a 1961 romantic comedy film about a young socialite who falls for a young man who has moved into her apartment. It received two Academy Awards, and it’s one of Audrey Hepburn‘s most spectacular performances.
Even if you haven’t seen the film, you’re probably familiar with the opening scene, right? I’m talking about the one in which Hepburn arrives at a New York jewelry shop and glimpses at some fancy necklaces through the window while sipping a coffee and enjoying a pastry.

Harry Potter is a famous film franchise about an orphaned boy who enrolls in Hogwarts, a school of wizardry. Once there, Harry befriends Ron and Hermione, and together they face many different evils that haunt this magical world.
One of the most famous scenes belongs precisely to the first of the eight films, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. In one of the first classes of the year, Profesor Flitwick teaches the students how to perform the “Wingardium Leviosa” spell to lift objects up in the air. Hermione – who always knows it all – tells Ron that he’s mispronouncing the words and teaches him how to say it. Without a doubt, this simple scene reflects both their personalities.

The Notebook is a romantic drama about a poor man who falls in love with a rich woman, and they are eventually separated due to their social differences. The story may sound a bit cliche, but it’s actually worth the watch!
This film is regarded as one of the most romantic ones ever, and you’re probably familiar with the scene in which both of them spend a carefree day on the beach. They go for a swim and start splashing each other with water when she shouts out: “if you’re a bird, I’m a bird“.

Released in 1945, It’s A Wonderful Life is one of those oldies but goodies that every millennial must watch. This heart-wrenching drama film is about a greedy businessman frustrated with life until an angel is sent from heaven to show him how life would have been had he never existed.
This film contains one of the most romantic scenes ever. Obviously, we’re talking about the moment where George tells Mary “I’d lasso the moon” for you“. OK, it may sound like a cheesy line, but when you watch the movie I’ll swear you’ll feel touched!
#18. The “He Slimed Me” Scene, Ghostbusters
Ghostbusters is an American fantasy comedy film, and it has come to be one of the greatest cult classics of the 80s. It tells the story of three goofy parapsychology experts who set up a ghost removal business.
The movie is full of epically ridiculous moments, but the most iconic one is when a ghost sort of throws up on Peter, covering him with slime. When Ray finds Peter lying on the floor covered in gue, instead of feeling worried about his safety, he is happy and thrilled by the evidence of the monster’s existence.

Released in 1985, The Breakfast Club is one of the best high school films ever made. It tells the story of five high school students who meet in a Saturday detention, and even though their personalities don’t seem to match at first, they soon realize they have much more in common than they thought.
However, for these 5 teenage misfits, serving detention proves to be way more fun than what they ever expected. One of the film’s most brilliant scenes is when they improvise a hilarious choreography, mocking people from their school.
#16. The Training Montage Scene, Rocky
Rocky is a sports drama film about a boxer who gets the chance of fighting a heavy-weight champion at the very beginning of his career. Brilliantly starred by Sylvester Stallone, it won three Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
One of the most famous scenes is when he is shown training for the big fight, and runs up hundreds of stairs. This scene ends with Rocky facing backward, lifting his arms triumphantly, clenching his fists.
#15. The “La Marseillaise” Scene, Casablanca
Casablanca is a 1942 romantic drama film about an American expatriate living in Morocco, who must decide whether or not to help his former lover and her husband to escape from the country. It received 8 Academy Award Nominations, of which it won three, including Best Picture.
The film’s most well-known scene is when the American expatriate, Laslzo, sings the French National Anthem, the Marseillaise, in the middle of a nightclub. As soon as he starts singing it, a patriotic fervor spreads through the crowd and everyone joins him, drowning out a group of German Nazis who were singing a patriotic song of their own.
#14. The “No Place Like Home” Scene, The Wizard Of Oz
The Wizard of Oz is a 1939 musical fantasy film that tells the story of Dorothy Gale, a young girl who is swept away from her farm and sent to the magical land of Oz. Once there, she sets on a journey with her new friends to see the Wizard, hoping that he’ll help her return to her house.
The film is full of memorable scenes, but one of the most famous ones is very near the ending. After her surreal adventure in the Land of Oz, Dorothy returns to her Kansas farmhouse, singing the words “There’s no place like home“.

Hannibal Lecter, brilliantly portrayed by Anthony Hopkins, is one of the creepiest and scariest characters of all times. His first appearance is chilling enough: when he meets with Clarice, the FBI agent, for the first time, he pronounces his famous words “Hello Clarice” with a spine-chilling tone.
#12. The “I Don’t Give A D*mn” Scene, Gone With The Wind
Gone with the Wind is a 1939 historical drama film about a rakish man and a manipulative woman who maintain a troubled romance during the American Civil War. It won a whopping 8 Oscars, including Best Picture, Director, Actress, and Screenplay.
For many years, it was believed that this was the first movie to ever include a swear word in its script. In one of the last scenes, Clark Gable says to Vivian Leigh: “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a d*mn“. Watch your tongue, Gable!
#11. The “You’re Gonna Need A Bigger Boat” Scene, Jaws
Without a doubt, Jaws is one of the most iconic thriller films ever. This 1975 classic is about a small beachside town haunted by a fearsome killer shark. The local sheriff, a marine biologist, and a seafarer team together to hunt the animal down.
When the team spots the shark for the first time, they are surprised by how big the beast is, and they’re a bit frightened themselves. While watching the shark swim by, one of them says “you’re gonna need a bigger boat“.

Toy Story is a 1995 animated film about a cowboy doll (Woody) who feels threatened when a brand new spaceman toy (Buzz Lightyear) supplants him as a boy’s favorite toy. Not only was it Pixar’s first production, but also the first entirely computer-animated film in history.
One of the audience’s favorite scenes is when Woody and Buzz Lightyear pick up a fight when stranded at a gas station. This fight represents a turning point in the plot since it makes Buzz become aware that he is, indeed, just a toy.

The Sound of Music is an American musical drama film directed by Robert Wise and starred by Hollywood legend Julie Andrews. It tells the story of Maria von Trapp, a young woman who leaves an Austrian convent to become a governess to the seven children of a rich Naval officer and widower.
Even those who haven’t seen the musical are familiar with the opening scene, where Maria von Trapp gleefully strolls through the hills singing “The hills are alive with the sound of music” with her arms wide open. This scene was filmed in Marktschellengberg, Germany, though most of the movie was shot in Austria.

Mary Poppins is a 1964 musical fantasy film starred by Julie Andrews and produced by Walt Disney. It tells the story of Mary, a nanny with magical powers who resorts to music and adventure to help two children grow closer to their father.
This Disney classic is full of great songs, but Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious is possibly the most iconic one of all. The reason it’s so great is that its lyrics make no sense at all. It’s ridiculously hilarious and at the same time super catchy. And the cartoons in the background makes the song even crazier!
#7. The “Tale As Old As Time” Scene, Beauty And The Beast
Beauty and the Beast is a Disney animated musical film released in 1990. Based on Leprice de Beaumont’s 18th-century tale, it tells the story of a prince who is cursed to live as a monster for the rest of his life unless he earns the love of a young woman.
One of the film’s most memorable scenes is when Belle and the Beast share a romantic dance in the castle’s ludicrous ballroom. This dance scene is musicalized by one of Disney’s greatest songs ever, Tale as Old as Time, which obviously earned an Academy Award.
#6. The “Phone-Home” Scene, E.T.
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial is a 1982 family sci-fi movie about a young boy who helps an alien escape the Earth and return to his home planet. It earned 4 Academy Awards and another 5 nominations.
If you’ve seen the film, then you know that it’s full of super adorable scenes. But one of the sweetest of all is when E.T. points his finger to the little kid and says the words “Phone – Home“. These two words pretty much sum up the whole plot, right?
#5. The Shower Scene, Psycho
Psycho is an American psychological horror film directed by the Hollywood legend Alfred Hitchcock and released in 1960. The film narrates the encounter of a secretary who checks into a stranded motel after stealing money from his boss, and the motel’s owner and manager. It is considered as the most iconic thriller film in history.
In what is one of the most famous scenes ever, the motel’s manager sneaks into the secretary’s motel room to murder her, and catches her taking a shower. This black and white picture shows the exact moment in which the man opens the shower curtains and the girl turns around and screams helplessly. Not only is everyone familiar with this scene, but also with its creepy music!
#4. The Door Scene, Titanic
Titanic is a 1997 epic romance film about a 17-year-old aristocrat who falls in love with a poor artist aboard the R.M.S. Titanic during its ill-fated voyage. Not only did it become the highest-grossing movie ever, but it also received the greatest number of Academy Awards in history (11 out of 14 nominations).
The film’s most famous scene is perhaps it’s most heart-wrenching one as well. While the ship is sinking and the rest of the passengers throw themselves desperately into the freezing water, Rose (starred by Kate Winslet) is lying on top of a small door amid the ocean, as she tries to convince Jack (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) to share the door with her. Jack insists that the door is too weak to hold them both, so he sacrifices himself to save Rose. If that isn’t true love, then what is?
#3. The Spaghetti Scene, Lady And The Tramp
Lady and the Tramp is a 1955 Disney film about a stray dog named Mutt, who falls in love with a sheltered Cocker Spaniel from a rich family. It is one of the greatest classics from Disney’s golden age and it received one BAFTA Award nomination.
These two dogs have starred one of the most iconic scenes in the history of Disney. These two go on a romantic street dinner and feed on a dish of spaghetti with meatballs. Eventually, they happen to chew on the same piece of spaghetti until their heads are one next to the other and that’s when they have their first kiss. Can it be more romantic?

One of the film’s most famous scenes is when Don Corleone, starred by Marlon Brando, tells Vito Corleone, starred by Al Pacino, “I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse“. This chilling quote shows that Don Corleone is a corrupt man willing to do anything to get his way.

Star Wars is one of the most successful movie franchises ever, and it’s most famous for its brilliant soundtrack and original plot. However, its most iconic scene belongs to Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back. You know which one we’re talking about, right?
I haven’t seen either of the 8 Star Wars films myself, but I am obviously familiar with the moment in which the creepy and enigmatic villain Darth Vader reveals Luke Skywalker that he is his father. This scene is the saga’s main climax since it makes the audience wonder whether or not Luke will be driven to the Dark Force.
