Funny Things That Only Neighbors Do

We Are Watching You

When it comes to safety, having security cameras installed on your property is the greatest investment. When something out of the ordinary happens in your front door, you have proof of the occurrence, and you can act accordingly. It can help you catch those who don’t pick up what their dogs have left behind on camera.

These neighbors put up a sign to warn the owner of the pooping dog: if you can’t pick up your dog’s waste, go somewhere else because we have you on camera. It sounds like a threat, but it should encourage the dog owner to pick up after his pet instead of going somewhere else and don’t pick it up.

Bye-Bye Christmas Tree

At least 80% of the population loves the holiday season. Some people enjoy meeting with their loved ones, while others start very early with all the home decorations. However, there is a small number of people that don’t celebrate at all, just like this neighbor who simply disposed of the Christmas tree.

An average person would put away all Christmas decorations once the season has ended. Others would dispose of it after several years in the dumpster. This neighbor just threw it off the balcony without even considering the damage they could have caused. Maybe this person thought it would suddenly disappear. I’m afraid it won’t.

Not-So-Nice Neighbor

If it snows, it means that you have to get out and shovel the front steps and walkways. Otherwise, you might end up having an unfortunate accident. In this situation, there are always some good neighbors who shovel both sides of the street and even your doorway, others who prefer not to shovel, and some that do it in a particular way.

We guess that these neighbors don’t get along with each other or else, you wouldn’t just shovel half of your front steps, would you? It takes more time to shovel half of them than shoveling just your half. Maybe he did it for a reason, which we don’t know. What we do know is that it can’t be funnier.

Mind Your Own Business

Everybody has an annoying neighbor who seems to be so bored with their life that they’re constantly paying attention to what the rest does instead of minding their own business. Some neighbors are so insistent that it automatically makes it hard to have a good relationship.

The neighbor in the picture got tired of having such an obstinate neighbor that he had no choice but to put a sign in his front door. Not Derek, for the seventh time, I’m not infringing any rule. I have all permits to work here. What’s the problem with neighbors who can’t mind their own business?

My Cat Is Expecting

Cat owners will understand how important it is to watch out for your cat and don’t let it go around. Otherwise, you’ll find your kitty pregnant. Some people are so cautious that they keep all windows and doors closed at all times, while others let their felines free and then have to take care of the pregnant cat and the newborns.

However tedious it may be, some cat owners take things very seriously. Take a look at this picture. In this case, the neighbor is giving some sort of “child support” to the owner of the pregnant cat, which is kitty food. Good call!

Frosty Glass Gone Wrong

Most bathrooms have frosty glass in the windows, so people can’t see from the outside while you are taking a shower or doing your thing. This special glass has to be placed correctly to work properly. Otherwise, the whole neighborhood would see what you do in there.

This is what happened to a couple who had just moved in. The couple had the glass window installed the wrong way, and their neighbors left them a letter to let them know of the situation. They are the new ones in town and have made an interesting impression. Luckily for them, their neighbors were paying attention and informed them.

Dandelions Hater

Most people who own a house usually take good care of their front yard. Some neighborhoods carry on a contest to find out which is the best front yard of the neighborhood. In this case, there is a neighbor who seems to be desperate about how his neighbors’ property looks.

In this case, there was one neighbor who had some issues with dandelions. We don’t see the problem here. We are not talking about trash or junk; these are just tiny yellow flowers. However, the homeowner found a funny way to answer his neighbor’s request. He put a sign in his front yard that reads “FREE DANDELIONS.” Well played.

Walking Your Pets

Those neighbors who own pets are always seen walking around with them. Even if you have a backyard, a dog always needs to stretch their legs, go for a walk and enjoy some fresh air. However surprising it may be, this elderly couple is taking their parrots for a walk.

Parrots are commonly seen both in exotic environments and in this neighborhood. This couple takes good care of them, to the point that they decided to take them for a walk. Maybe these parrots need fresh air just like dogs do. This is something you don’t see every day.

Holiday Decoration Contest

Some neighbors have a good holiday spirit and fully decorate their homes. Walking around the neighborhood, you’ll always spot houses with loads of decorations that light up the streets at night, while others just hang simple and tiny lights.

In some neighborhoods, a contest is carried out. Basically, the best decoration wins. So neighbors take decorations very seriously, just like the owner of this house. Of course, he won the decoration contest, as he didn’t spare any lights.

The Perfect Parking Spot

Those who own a truck perfectly know how hard it can be to park; either you have to find a large parking spot so you don’t disturb any neighbor, or you have to have your own parking space. Having a truck is great, but it has its downsides.

If streets are narrow or if there is not enough parking space, parking a truck can be a struggle. This truck was parked in the street, and a neighbor couldn’t stop complaining about it. Finally, the owner of the truck decided to park it in his own yard.

Extreme Weather Conditions

People who live in tropical areas are always ready to deal with extreme weather conditions. As anything can happen at any time, some neighbors take every possible preventive measure, just like this neighbor, who has just moved into a tropical area.

This neighbor had his outdoor equipment installed in the yard. After a storm, a trampoline ended up in his neighbor’s yard, specifically on the side of the house. He was lucky that no one got hurt. Now he knows that he has to take all safety measures.

Reuse And Recycle

Nowadays, people tend to be more aware of how their waste can cause great problems to the environment. Some people are so obsessed with zero waste that they have found fun ways to reuse as much as possible. It’s creative, and it helps the environment.

This neighbor found the perfect spot for his old microwave. It is still working, as it is plugged in, and it also functions as a mailbox. Now, people passing by can have their meals microwaved, and the mailman can have a place to leave the mail. It’s a win-win situation.

The Killer Cactus

Walls set the limits of your property and avoid any possible misunderstanding with neighbors. However, some neighbors become trespassers thanks to their plants, which is not on purpose because nature is nature. The situation in the picture is extreme, but it’s real.

A huge cactus destroying a wall is something you don’t see every day. This neighbor took a picture of a cactus that made a complete mess. He was shocked to see such an uncommon disaster to the property caused by a simple plant. Fortunately, the only one that was damaged was the wall. Zero casualties.

Parking Problems

Some limits should never be crossed, for example, parking limits. Each house has its own parking space, and it’s perfectly understood that no one should park in someone else's driveway. A good relationship with your neighbor starts by not blocking their driveway, to say the least.

Technically speaking, this truck is not blocking anyone’s driveway. However, the owner of the truck forgot a minor detail: the ladder in the back, which is clearly blocking the way for this poor neighbor who took the picture. Parking manners should be tested when getting a driver’s license.

The Kid’s In Town

It’s highly normal to see children playing in the street, even riding their bikes. They can’t wait to arrive home after school to play with the other kids in town. The normal schedule would be: wake up, have breakfast, go to school, study, catch the bus back home, eat a snack and play outside.

This is Carter; he is a child who paid a visit to his neighbor and asked for something in particular, “Can I have a banana, please?” he said. That’s all. He didn’t ask for money or to play with him. He just wanted to fill up his stomach. Just a nice, healthy kid in town asking for fruit.

Pay Your Vet Bills

The cost of having a pet can be extremely high if we consider medical expenses. Attending the vet alone isn’t cheap at all, not to mention if your pet is sick or needs special treatment. So if your neighbor accidentally causes harm to your pet, they should offer to pay the vet bill.

In this case, the neighbor’s Great Dane attacked his Golden Retriever. The owner of the golden retriever gently asked his neighbor to pay the vet’s bill, and he did. He willingly paid the bill but in change. At least he didn’t turn down the deal.

Please, Place Your Trash In The Dumpster

There’s nothing worse than having a neighbor who can’t keep his space clean. The majority of people are well aware of the importance of keeping the front door neat as a button. However, some people can’t stay in line and don’t care if they share a common space with others.

The picture shows a terrible situation. People who live next door have to constantly ask their messy neighbor to place his trash in the dumpster. It seems to be a hard task for him to do because he would only take the trash to the dumpster once he hears neighbors complaining about it. Please, don’t be this kind of person.

I’m Not Your Friend

You can tell immediately if your neighbor is friendly or not. Some neighbors don’t like to have friends or even be nice and say Hi when you see them. Sometimes, you can have rude people living next to you. But you just have to accept it because you can’t change people.

By looking at this picture, we can easily tell that this person’s neighbor doesn’t like him at all. Who would completely renew half of his front home and not tell the neighbor about it? Probably someone who doesn’t want to look their neighbor in the eye.

Not-So-Secret Purchase

When you live next to someone, you notice some things that can’t be ignored. You try to keep your nose out of your neighbor’s private business, but sometimes it’s impossible to look away. Being too observant isn’t a crime, is it?

When you purchase stuff online, your package comes inside a box, and no one can tell what’s inside. That’s what this neighbor thought, but they were wrong. This person might have felt confident while purchasing. Now everybody knows about his secret purchase.

The Nationalistic Neighbor

Any holiday season is great, no matter where you come from. People get so excited to celebrate special occasions that they decorate both inside and outside the houses. Some neighbors prepare original decorations, while others take extreme decorating measures.

The most special holiday in America is the 4th of July because every person shows it’s devotion to the country they love. If you have a patriotic neighbor, be ready to have extreme decorations, just like the one in this picture.

Who Let The Dog Out?

Most animals are prepared to stand low temperatures and freezing winters, they were born that way. If you see a Husky in the snow, you don’t need to worry at all, as they have special features that allow them to stand such cold conditions.

A neighbor was worried about the Husky being out in the snow and standing at such low temperatures. To make him understand, the dog owner took a picture of the Husky lying on the snow, and he seems to be happy and comfortable in it. This neighbor should mind his own business.

Don’t Call The Police

It’s impossible to have a nice relationship with every neighbor in town. In fact, it’s highly probable you will disagree with at least one neighbor. The best course of action is always to stay away from any kind of trouble and avoid possible problems.

One neighbor apparently had a reason to call the police. After that, the battle began. It seems that his neighbor wanted some revenge, so he installed pink flamingos in his neighbor’s front yard. It’d have been easier to start by talking about the problem instead of involving the police.

When Three Signs Aren’t Enough

It’s the cat’s nature to escape whenever it’s possible. They have a desperate desire to go outside as soon as they see a window or door open. Some cats are so intelligent that they may lead you to believe they don’t want to go outside, and when you get distracted, they’re suddenly gone.

Some cat owners handle these escapes quite well, while others struggle to keep their kitties inside. This neighbor has left not one or two but three signs to the maintenance person to keep the door shut. It takes cooperation to keep the cats inside.

Small Town Pranks

Living in small towns has its downsides, but the greatest advantage of all is the pranks. Small towns are considered to be the friendliest and most neighborly places. As everyone knows each other, even cops get pranked.

A neighbor captioned a box trap that read “FREE DONUTS,” and some donuts were seen on the floor. As long as you don’t do something illegal, you can even prank the police and have some fun. That’s the best thing about small communities.

Serious Watermelon Meeting

We keep our lives so busy that we don’t realize how stressful it is until we have sleeping problems, eating disorders, and more. Spotting the problem is the first step to finding a solution. Every person has their way, and we’re not going to judge here.

A person spotted their neighbor having a serious talk with… watermelons? The meeting looks like a serious one. Hopefully, this person is solving out whatever it’s going inside his head. The real issue here is: why would someone take a picture of their neighbor in the middle of the night?

How To Avoid Being Robbed

When you are giving a very expensive Christmas present, you shouldn’t leave the packaging in your front yard. Otherwise, thieves would know about your new acquisition and break into your house. While it’s not a common practice, you should beware.

This person is encouraging others to put their trash in the neighbor’s bin. One indeed has to be cautious when dropping waste. However, it’s not fair to throw your waste into your neighbor’s bin. You should throw it in the dumpster and keep thieves out.

A Friendly Note

When you have a problem with your neighbor, the best you can do is face the situation the minute it bothers you. If you don’t deal with the problem, it will get worse. You can tolerate a single-time situation, but if it keeps on repeating, you would have to deal with it.

Having a noisy neighbor in the building is very annoying, especially if this person is constantly making foot noises. Leaving a friendly note is a great way to avoid dealing with the problem face-to-face. And if the note is kind of friendly, it might be well received.

Birthday Girl

Most people love celebrating their birthdays, while others hate it the minute they realize they’re getting older. Your birthday is a great day to celebrate that you’re alive, no matter how old you are. Some people get birthday decorations to the extreme.

Our loved ones may prepare special surprises for our birthdays, like a big cake, or party decorations. This person had the idea of installing big photos of the birthday girl in her front yard, the last one reading “Look who’s 40!.” If she didn’t want neighbors to know their age, this might have been the worst birthday surprise ever.

Hanging With Your Neighbor’s Dog

Dogs are the most loyal and friendly pets on Earth. They like socializing with people, they want to be petted as much as possible. When they meet a new person, they would always sniff enough to know that person is fine. They are so desperate for love that they don’t want to be alone.

This dog is an example. He is hanging on the fence and watching the neighbor. Maybe he was waiting for the neighbor to pet him and play with him, or he was just curious. This dog is definitely uncomfortable, but he won’t step down until he gets the attention he wants.

We Are Quite Neighbors

When you are looking to buy a house, one of the most important factors to consider is the location. It’s important to find a neighbor that is far from airports, factories, train stations, and more. Otherwise, you’d experience some inconveniences.

This real estate agent put up a genius sign to sell a house that was located next to a cemetery. Living next to this type of location can be very quiet, but she needed to make it clear that neighbors are quiet too.
