The General Rule
As a general rule, you should be applying your skincare products from lightest to heaviest and, of course, always begin by cleansing your face.
This means that serums go first, creams and lotions second, and oils last. However, there are exceptions to this rule.
Always Read The Labels
This might sound like a silly piece of advice, but be honest with yourself: do you read labels carefully? Most people don't read product labels at all.
Pay attention to the product's label and apply it to your skin by following the instructions carefully. After all, they're there for a reason. For example, if it says that a product should be applied before moisturizer, or that you shouldn't use it in combination with a certain kind of product, it is vital that you follow those instructions.
Don't Forget Sunscreen
Some may argue that sunscreen is the most important skincare step in anyone's routine. After all, sun damage is the primary cause of aging, and sunscreen is the only way to fight it.
It is important to know that sunscreen always comes last in your routine, no matter your skin type. After two hours of sun exposure, make sure you reapply.
