Exfoliating
Exfoliation removes dead layers of skin cells, so it’s important to do it at least a minimum of three times per week. For excessively dry skin, exfoliating once per day is even better.
By removing dead layers, the fresh, moist skin underneath is able to breathe and absorb moisturizer better. The skin’s oil glands cannot reach the outer, dead layers and hydrate the living cells unless those dead layers are removed.
Moisturizing And Protecting Nails
Rubbing petroleum jelly or a thick cream works wonders for dry, brittle nails. It helps hold moisture around and under the nails. Try doing it at bedtime and lipping a pair of cotton gloves before sleep to get better results.
Make sure to wear vinyl gloves when washing dishes or doing any other chores requiring immersing your hands in water. Vinyl is great because people with nail problems tend to have skin that is sensitive to rubber . Also, avoid polish removers containing acetone or formaldehyde since they’re terribly drying to nails. Acetate-based removers are much better.
Quitting Unhealthy Habits
Some habits are total skin-destroyers and should be avoided. The worst three are tanning salons, smoking and sunbathing. Some sunlight may be ok, as long as SPF is involved, but prolonged sun exposure must be avoided.
According to doctors, these three factors can be extremely harmful to the skin and have secondary effects that could be potentially life-threatening.
Putting Eggs In Your Hair
Eggs are packed with proteins and minerals, which can be beneficial to the hair. Mix a small amount of shampoo with one egg to create a “shampoo omelet” and apply it to your hair for five minutes. It’s important to rinse well after. Use the egg mask not more often than once a week.
This mixture will help feed the hair's protein and infuse hair follicles with vitamins and minerals. The new hair will grow stronger and be less prone to breakage.
Using Natural Products
Fancy, pricy products may be all the rage now, but all you need to achieve smoother, prettier skin are natural ingredients.
Cleaning your face and neck with a natural cold cream and following with a rose water glycerine rinse can help remove skin-damaging pollutants. Honey can also be a very effective and gentle cleanser. Opting for a non-abrasive cleanser will result in glowing skin.
