This story is heartbreaking but don't worry, it has a happy ending. One day, a seven-year-old girl named Alexis Goggins was with her mom in their car like any other regular day, but something would happen that would change their lives forever. A man suddenly approched the car and tried to get inside. Then, Alexis' mom realized that it was her ex-boyfriend, Calvin.

The crazed man pulled out a gun and tried to shoot at Alexis' mom, but the little girl got in the way and yelled: "don't hurt my mother! Then, Alexis took several bullets to her chest - six to be exact - and her mom took two. The man fled the scene but was later captured, and both Alexis and her mom made a full recovery. The man is now behind bars and Alexis is known in her community as a brave little hero.

#19. A True Firefighter

One of the most terrifying things for people is fire, and most will try everything in their power to stay as far away from it as possible. However, others are able to put their fears aside in other to save others, and that is what 18-year-old Matthew Robinson did one morning when he realized that his neighbors were in grave danger.

As he was hanging out in his room, he smelled smoke, and noticed that his neighbors' house was o fire. He wasted no time and ran to the house, where he came in through a window thanks to a ladder that was nearby. Inside, he managed to find two kids who were trapped and saved their lives, while the parents saved the remaining three children. Nobody was injured thanks to Matthew's bravery.

#18. Drowning In Ice

There is something tempting about walking over a frozen pond or lake, but there is a reason why there's always a sign telling people not to. It is extremely dangerous to walk over frozen water because it can suddenly break and trap you under the ice, leading you to either drown or freeze to death in the worst case scenario. Two children in 2009 learned this the hard way.

Victor Flores and a friend named Aiden were playing around a frozen pond when Aiden decided to run across it. The ice broke, and he fell inside. Victor decided not to waste any time and just jumped into the water to save his friend. He grabbed a pole that was laying nearby and helped his friend hold on to it as they both climbed out of the pond. Neither was injured.

Some people may say that TV only brainwashes kids, but there are actually many shows out there that educate them and teach them valuable lessons. 6-year-old Beanie Mar actually learned how to make the Heimlich maneuver while watching the Disney Channel, which she used to save a friend's life at school one day.

While having lunch, Aniyah Rigmaiden started choking on her food. All kids just stared in shock without knowing what to do, except for one: Beanie. She quickly went up to her classmate and did the Heimlich maneuver on her, saving her from choking. She acted so fast that not even the teachers around them could do anything. Local news were amazed by the story and interviewed Beanie, who said that the whole thing "was really not a big deal.

It is a tragic fact that many children die from drowning every year. Although it is very fun to take your kids swimming, it is very dangerous to leave them unattended. A couple learned this the hard way when their baby almost drowned. Luckily, a hero girl was there to save its life, because she was the only one keeping an eye on her.

5-year-old Riley Braden watched as an 18-month-old toddler walked towards a pool at a Florida resort and fell into the water. She quickly took action and jumped in the pool to rescue the baby. Thanks to her heroic action, she was interviewed by a local newspaper, and she said: > “There was no lifeguard, and the girl’s parents were lounging by the side of the pool with their clothes on. When I brought her up, I shouted, ‘I’ve got the baby! I’ve got the baby!'

Living in a farm may seem like a pretty calm lifestyle, but things can go bad really quick. If something happens to you while you're alone in the middle of nowhere, there may be nobody around to help you. A father who suffered an accident while working with his tractor was saved by his two daughters, whose quick thinking saved the day.

Jeff was working on his farm when his tractor tipped over him and he was trapped underneath. His daughters, who were standing nearby, ran towards him and found superhuman strength within themselves to lift the 2,000 pound tractor to help their father escape. It is believed that people find this kind of strength in dangerous situations, and they obviously did!

In 2011, another tractor-related incident almost killed a boy's father as he was working in his farm. Tom Phillips, a 13-year-old boy saw that an angry bull was running towards him and his father, who didn't notice anything. Then, Tom had to act fast, and the first thing he saw was his father's tractor parked nearby.

Tom was never allowed to touch the tractor, but he figured this situation required it. As the bull was running toward his dad, Tom jumped on the tractor and sped towards him, which scared the bull away. Unfortunately, the bull had already attacked his dad, who had to spend two weeks in the hospital. Still, without his help, he probably would've been killed by the angry animal.

#13. Rescuing Mom

You should never underestimate the power of knowing the Heimlich maneuver, because it saves many lives every day. Thanks to it, 11-year-old Keith was able to save his mom's life when she was choking on a piece of chocolate. As soon as he realized what was going on, Keith jumped into action and started performing the Heimlich on his mom.

He was able to keep his cool and handle the situation like a pro, which helped his mom survive. When asked about his heroic actions, he said: > "It is not like this is something that is normal for me. I can’t explain it. I kind of just knew what to do, so I just did and my mom was fine.

These two little boys, 11-year-old Jeremiah and 10-year-old Isaiah, did something so brave that most people wouldn't dare to do. As they were playing on the street, they noticed that there was smoke coming out of a neighbor's house. Then, they realized it was on fire, and nobody was there to help. So, they decided to take matters into their own hands.

Without skipping a beat, the boys went into the burning house and located two infants that were trapped inside, somehow without any grownups around. They took them in their arms, and got out of the house. As they left the house, they called 911. If it weren't for them, who knows what would've happened to those babies!

It seems pretty unbelievable, but many people don't realize there is a fire until it's too late, especially if it happens while they sleep. Sadly, sometimes the smell of smoke is not enough to wake someone up, and the smoke makes people choke and lose consciousness even before the fire gets to them. Luckily, this girl woke up just before it was too late, and she saved her entire family.

She woke up to the smell of smoke and quickly took action. She woke everyone up and helped her little brother through the smoke and led him to safety. She then went back into the house to pick up her 4-year-old brother in her arms and take him out of the house. Sadly, they lost all their belongings, but everyone was unharmed thanks to her bravery and quick thinking.

AJ Heiber's mom didn't think anything bad would happen when she left him alone under the care of his dad. It was a hot summer day and there were many bees around, to which Aj's father was allergic to. The little boy was playing around the house when he found his dad unconscious in the bath tub, due to two big bee stings.

AJ wasted no time and hopped on his bike, even though he was just in his underwear. He thought it would be a waste if he took time to get dressed, and he was right. He quickly went in search of help, and his dad was saved just in time. 911 was called and his dad was administered an Epipen, all thanks to AJ's brave, pantless deed.

#9. The BB Gun Savior

Just like many other kids on this list, Kobe Sturgeon saved his mother from a life-threatening attack. Kobe and his mom shared an appartment with a man named Paul Newman, who once came in drunk and started attacking his mother. Luckily, Kobe was awake, and rushed to the scene when he heard loud noises.

He first told Newman to stop, but since he didn't, he went into his room and got a BB gun, which he started to shoot at the attacker. BB guns are not particularly dangerous, unless you aim at someone's face, which kobe did. After shooting at him four times, his mom managed to get out and call 911. The polite came and took Newman away.

#8. Hero In The Hurricane

In 2017, Texas and Louisiana were struck by Hurricane Harvey, a very catastrophic incident that caused a lot of flooding and, as a consequence, many deaths and injuries. It is in times like these when the true heroes of the community stand out, risking their lives to save others, just like Virgil Smith did.

The 13-year-old boy blew up an air mattress he had at home and used it to navigate the flooded streets of his neighborhood. He then managed to rescue 17 people, helping them up the mattress and taking them to safety before going back to get more people. He even saved a few babies and a woman in a wheelchair. What a hero!

#7. Brotherly Love

Just like the girls who learned the Heimlich maneuver on the Disney Channel, 10-year-old Michigan boy Jacob O'Connor learned some valuable information while watching a movie called San Andreas, starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. In it, a drowning man is saved by The Rock, who pulls him out of the water and then gives him mouth-to-mouth.

Just a day after watching that movie, Jacob's 2-year-old brother fell into the family pool, and he wasted no time to take action. He did the same thing he saw in the film, and pulled the little boy out and gave him compressions until he regained consciousness, as he explained in an interview: > "The movie just popped up in my head and I started thinking about that scene.”

#6. All Thanks To Pizza

This story is so peculiar that many would think it's a joke. A 7-year-old girl named Rita Lawlor actually saved her mother's life with a slice of pizza. The two were having dinner when she noticed that her mom was unconscious. After trying to wake her up in several ways, she just slapped her awake with a slice of pizza.

Now that her mom had opened her eyes, Rita called 911 and paramedics came to assist her. Sometimes, you just have to make use of whatever you've got, and that's exactly what Rita did. If it hadn't been for her creativity, her mom might have not woken up.

#5. The Bus Saviors

Many parents believe that their kids are safe when they're riding the school bus, but the reality is that all those kids are under the care of just one adult, the bus driver. And, if anything happens to the bus driver, then all the kids are suddenly in danger... unless there are two hero kids on the bus like the ones in this story.

Karson Vega and Kyle Buzek were on the school bus when the driver started losing consciousness and lost control of the vehicle. Without skipping a beat, Karson took the wheel and drove the bus to safety, while Kyle called 911. The driver got the help he needed and all the children were safe and sound thanks to the brave boys.

#4. Fighting An Attacker

This story is as true as it is bizarre. An 8-year-old boy from Australia named Jack Foster was jumping on his trampoline in his back yard, when he hard some commotion coming from the front door. He quite literally sprung into action and found that his dad was being attacked by a man under the influence of drugs wielding a crowbar.

Jack quickly reached the house phone and called 911. As he was waiting for the police to come, he threw his toys at the attacker to try to stop him from hurting his dad, who was fighting back as well. They held the attacker off until the police came and took him into custody. The attacker will spend four years behind bars thanks to Jack.

#3. Rescuing Grandma

7-year-old Kenny Smith was in the car with his grandma like any other regular day when he noticed that something was off. His grandma started speaking strangely, and she didn't seem able to keep her eyes open. Then, she started to have problems breathing, and decided to pull over. Then, she lost consciousness, and Kenny had to do something about it.

Kenny grabbed his grandma's cellphone and quickly dialed 911. He got out of the car to get their exact location, which helped paramedics find them very quickly and save his grandma. When asked about his heroic actions, Kenny explained that one must always be prepared to act in emergency situations, and he is so right!

#2. Stopping A Car Crash

The title is pretty self-explanatory; 12-year-old Patrick Canney, a boy from Massachusetts, was in the car with his dad and little sister when things went terribly wrong. His father had epilepsy, and sadly suffered from a seizure as he was driving. While his little sister was panicking, Patrick kept calm and took the wheel, even though he didn't know how to drive.

He managed to get the car out of the road and stop it before he took his dad's phone to call 911. His parents had taught him how to act in case his dad suffered from a seizure, so he took care of him until paramedics came. His community actually honored him for his bravery, as you can see in the picture. He totally deserved it!

It is always a good idea to teach children how to call for help, which is what helped Chloe Bradburn, a 7-year-old girl from the United Kingdom, save her father during an emergency. She was playing in her bedroom when she heard a loud thud, which led her to find her dad on the floor, unconscious. She quickly grabbed the phone and called 999.

Her dad had a cyst on his pancreas which unexpectedly burst, so it was vital that he got help immediately. The 999 operators instructed Chloe on what to do until paramedics came, and she handled it like a pro. She explained in an interview: > “I felt scared. They told me to pump this heart seven times and make sure he was breathing.”
