#22. Making A Public Appearance
The Graham Norton Show is a popular British comedy chat show hosted by Graham Norton. The show consists of interviews and chats about pop culture and news, and it usually features many celebrity guests from all over the world.
It is pretty much your typical talk show, much like the ones in America. Graham also has audience guests on stage sometimes to tell funny stories about their lives. On one episode, someone told an incredible story.
#21. The Big Red Chair
Graham calls on ordinary people to sit down in his big red chair at the end of the program. The member of the audience sits down with Graham and gets an opportunity to tell their story, but there's a catch to the whole thing.
If Norton enjoys the story, the member of the audience is applauded and can enjoy their five seconds of fame. Then if the story turns out to be repetitive, tedious, or just extremely unpleasant, Graham will throw the chair around, causing the audience member to collapse on their back.

During one episode in 2016, a red chair guest took his place relatively optimisticly to win the crowd and Norton over. Sean McInerney was the guy on the large, red chair. Sean came from Donegal, Ireland, and was delighted to have his chance to share his story.
He started telling the story of a wedding which he once attended. The bride was an acquaintance he wasn't related to but attended anyway to show respect for the happy couple.

In every way, it had been a dream wedding. The bride was ecstatic, the groom looked absolutely delighted, and they seemed like they would be together forever. The guests took their seats for the feast right after the confetti was thrown to wish the married couple a lifetime of bliss.
Little did the guest know that the smile on the groom was fake, his love for his new wife was not real, and he was about to make a big revelation to the guests. What could possibly happen?
#18. Shocking Revelations
He was waiting for his moment with his speech spinning in his head, and this would be amazing. Events were about to hit a new stage of craziness. Minutes before the wedding, the groom discovered a shocking secret about his future bride.
The secret came from several sources, and even burning evidence was obtained, stating that his wife betrayed him not only with just one man but many. This completely changed the man and drove him to do something drastic on their wedding day.

But that wasn't the straw that broke the camel's back. Later he would find out that those men were his closest friends. The groom wasn't sure what to do or how to act with his heart ripped and broken.
He was in denial and was unable to believe any of it. As anger swelled in him, he knew he was bound to preserve his composure, while keeping a cool head. How could someone react after hearing such awful news?
#16. Keeping A Cool Head
Only looking at his new wife twisted his stomach, but if he wanted his vengeance, he'd have to see his scheme through to the end. He maintained his dignity, pretending to his wife and guests that all was well even though he was broken inside.
His mission would come to life during dinner. There would be one of the men who slept whit his wife attending the wedding, and that's when he came up with the perfect idea to reveal all their dirty secrets in one go. The groom wanted to see the face of his new wife as she realized that he knew everything.
#15. Tiny Red Dots
The groom slipped off to the banquet hall before the ceremony to find out where each of the men who slept with his wife would be. Once the groom located the seats where these men would be, he placed a red sticker on the bottom of their plates.
Yet the groom knew he had to keep a straight face if his scheme was going to be successful. The men and the new bride were about to get their life's greatest surprise and be exposed in front of their friends and family (and The Graham Norton Show a few months later!).
#14. A Sudden Realization
As the banquet began, everyone was having a great time. But then, the big moment came. The groom got up to make a toast, which threw the bride off because a toast had not been planned What was he going to say?
Suddenly, the room grew quiet, as everyone was waiting to hear what the groom was going to say. Usually, the groom would give a lovely speech about how much he loves his wife, but not this time.
#13. The Truth Comes Out
With tears in his eyes and a tired grin on his lips, the groom told everyone his wife was having an affair with the people standing there. The audience gasped and everyone turned their heads toward the bride and the men.
Though the groom was heartbroken and urging to run out of the place, he enjoyed exposing them every second. Despite all the suffering, the groom did exactly what he wanted.

After he completely exposed his new wife, the groom told the whole room that, of course, he did not wish to remain married to that woman. He stated that right after this, he would go get a lawyer and get the marriage annulled.
To see the looks on the face of his new wife and those with whom she slept was enough revenge. Minutes later, the bride started to weep along with her parents. She was completely humiliated, and that's exactly what her heartbroken groom wanted.

Embarrassed in front of all her family and friends, there were no words that would comfort the bride. She knew what she had done,but she never expected this to happen in a million years. All she could do now was leave and hide at home until the shame went away.
After being embarrassed and exposed like that, there's not much you can do about it. You can only go home and think about what you did, and then hope that eventually, people forget about it. Of course, if someone tells this story on TV, people won't forget about it.
#10. A Bit Too Much?
The way all of this turned out makes one question if it was an innovative groom or just a spark of lunacy? After all, a man with a broken heart may be able to do ridiculous things. In the end, he succeeded in turning his pain into something unforgettable, which allowed his new wife to taste her own medicine too.
However, some people may think that the groom went a little too far. Sure, he was hurt and his bride did something awful, but getting all of their friends and family involved in their personal drama was definitely awkward for everybody. Maybe he should've just canceled the wedding.
#9. Walking With His Head Up
After Sean finished his story on The Graham Norton Show, the audience on the show was obviously in shock. But the question arises: did Sean get flipped, or did the audience enjoy this crazy story?
Sean actually got to walk away with a standing ovation from one of the show's guests: Avengers star Jeremy Renner. Although it might not be the story you expect to hear, it is definitely interesting, and you can't help but wonder what happened to the bride and the groom afterwards.

Some are curious to know if Sean's was the best Big Red Chair story ever to air on The Graham Norton Show. It was evident from Graham Norton's reaction that Sean's wedding from hell was something never seen.
One can't help but wonder if the people involved in the story watched the show, especially the bride. The groom would have probably laughed at the whole thing, but the bride would be ten times more embarrassed than how she was at the wedding.

Following Sean's story, social media exploded. Show viewers rapidly switched to social media platforms such as Twitter to share their opinions about the situation.The bride was not only called out for her behavior but also the men she cheated on with. Both scenarios gave the groom a moment of glory.
Thanks to the wonders of the internet, people investigated the story further and found more details that Sean had omitted on the show, and what they found was truly incredible, especially the number of men the bride cheated with.

The number of men left standing was one of the most surprising things about the plot. The groom only knew the identity of a couple of guys his bride had cheated on him with, but when he saw more guys at the wedding looking confused, his suspicions were confirmed.
As is turned out, a total of eight men felt exposed at the wedding, basically exposing themselves and falling for the groom's trap. What kind of friends would do that, by the way? Wow.

There is no question that the rest of the night was uncomfortable, and the bride was humiliated by the situation. As for the groom, it was a tragic day as well, since he found out the woman he cherished wasn't devoted to him anymore.

Sean's story inspired YouTuber Jason Gunn so much that he called Sean to have him tell the tale on his podcast again. Gunn was already aware of how it started, laughing the entire time, but Sean continued to revisit the story for Gunn's audience. Gunn thanked Sean once again for sharing his story after the story was publicly known.
This made Sean's story become popular once again and reach more people. It seemed as though the bride's nightmare would never end, because people kept telling the story over and over, and we can't help but wonder, did Sean cross a line, perhaps?

While everybody loved Sean's wedding story, it wasn't precisely his to share. Some wonder if Sean was telling the story to get a spot on TV. At some point, it makes you wonder if this unpleasant situation had to be brought up again. Is it likely that the groom could have found a different way to treat his bride?
How much punishment is enough punishment for something like this? After all, the bride and the men were publicly humiliated at the wedding already, so did they need to be exposed like that on television? Then again, Sean never gave any names, and the identities of everyone always remained secret.

People say that life imitates art, and that's what happened with The Art of Travel, a 2008 movie. In it, the groom takes matters into his own hands to humiliate his cheating fiancé.
In the film, he tells people to look for an envelope under their seats and then hands one to the best man in particular. The guests find photos of the bride and the best man sleeping together. Maybe this scene inspired the groom to do the same? We'll never know.
